Why Marlow?

"There ought to be a law against anybody going to Europe,
until they have seen the things we have in this country"
(Will Rogers)

"I saw the real state of the union last week in Marlow Oklahoma. A bunch of us met at the elementary school, where we ate beef brisket and baked beans and the Chamber of Commerce recognized the Farm Family of the Year. The McCarleys won and their kids were mighty proud. ... I realized as we were sitting there, the State of the Union was eating baked beans, visiting with our neighbors and friends, enjoying each other's company. The "State of the Union" is not in Washington. It never has been and never will be. It's right there in Marlow, Oklahoma. ... It's not what is done in Washington, it's what is done here. It's about moms and dads being there. Marlow is where the country thrives."
Former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts Republican response to President Clinton's State of the Union Address.
